In the winter, Vaujany transforms into a winter wonderland, with its ski slopes opening up to skiers and snowboarders of all levels.
The village is part of the Alpe d'Huez Grand Domaine ski area, which offers over 250 kilometers of pistes. Vaujany is also a popular destination for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing as well as hiking, biking, and fishing in the summertime.
Vaujany is a walker's paradise, with ample free parking and a well-connected network of escalators and lifts that whisk pedestrians between the village's upper and lower levels in a matter of minutes.
THE SKI LIFTS
Only a few minutes from our chalet, Vaujany’s fast 160 person cable car (télépherique), whisks you up to 2800m, linking you to the extensive 250km ski area of Alpe d'Huez in less than 10 minutes.
Vaujany’s second ski lift is perfect for beginners and little ones. Taking you into Vaujany’s own ski area with ESF ski school, it’s a great place to find your legs on beautiful tree-lined runs.
The final of Vaujany's three ski lifts takes you up from the bottom of the La Fare black run to the main lift station.
THINGS TO DO IN VAUJANY
Take time off the slopes and relax your muscles in sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi, post swim at Vaujany's leisure centre. Keep your fitness up in the gym while the kids make new friends at the local children's club. Get competitive with a family bowling session, take to the ice at Vaujany's world-class ice rink or sit back and watch a local ice hockey match.
